Boston Creams Maple Leafs Again!
Boston beat the Maple Leafs bad for the third time this season. Tonight the Leafs lost 6-3,the Leafs held out pretty steady untill the third period when they let 3 goals in. Last time the Maple Leafs played Boston on November the fifth they lost 7-0 and on October 19th they lost 6-2. Lets hope the next time the Maple Leafs meet up with Boston they will turn this 3 loss streak against them around.
Maple Leafs Have A Heart Dinner A Winner
The Maple Leafs held their 20th annual Have A Heart dinner presented by AM640 Tuesday at Earth Bloor West. It was another successful event as hundreds of fans were able to mix and mingle with their favourite players, coaches, their wives and partners along with general manager Brian Burke.
The night wrapped up with two exceptional items: A fan and 10 friends were able to win the chance to play a game of hockey at Wendel Clark’s rink; the final item was a fishing trip with Brian Burke on Lake Ontario and dinner at Eleven for four guests.
The event raised $200,000 for the MLSE Team Up Foundation with the money being invested into a new rink at Sunnydale in Rexdale over the next month with the Leafs opening the rink on January 4th.

Maple Leaf's Line Against Bruins
Wednesday's clash at Air Canada Centre marks the third of six meetings between these Northeast Division rivals. The Bruins earned convincing wins over the Maple Leafs on Oct. 20 and Nov. 5, outscoring Toronto by a 13-2 margin. Tyler Seguin paced the Bruins in their two victories over the Leafs by combining for 4 goals and 2 assists.
The Leafs host the Bruins for the second time this season, hoping to put two lopsided affairs in their rearview mirror and maintain their lead in the Northeast division in the process. Boston trails Toronto for first place in the division by a point with two games in hand. While the Leafs are fresh off a 3-1-0 road trip, the Bruins have been the League's hottest team in November, registering an 11-0-1 record in that span.

Phaneuf Has Been Burke's Pillar
Brian Burke traded for Dion Phaneuf on January 31, 2010, he risked very little.
What he gained was the pillar on which every other acquisition has been positioned.
The players who went to Calgary, Jamal Mayers, Matt Stajan, Ian White and Nik Hagman were going to go somewhere. Ex-Leafs litter the NHL. Nikolai Kulemin, Mikhail Grabovski and Luke Schenn are the only holdovers from when Burke signed on three years ago Tuesday.

Phaneuf’s career had stalled in Calgary. Always a point producer, his plus-minus fell to minus 11 in his last full season with the Flames. Flash forward to the present. With 18 points in 24 games, Phaneuf sits fifth in scoring for defencemen. His leadership is unquestioned. Prized rookie defencemanJake Gardiner has been installed in the locker beside Phaneuf.

Phill Kessel takes lead in the 2012 All-Star Fan Balloting!
Toronto's Phil Kessel has taken the lead in the 2012 All-Star Fan Balloting with 258,446. Kessel took the lead this week from Ottawa Senators defenseman Eric Karlsson. So far Kessel leads the NHL with 16 goals and 31 points, so hopefully Kessel stays on the top for the All-Star game that takes place Jan. 29 2012.

Markham Trying To Build NHL Sized Arena And Get NHL Hockey Team
Markham is possibly planning an NHL sized hockey rink that would seat 19,500 people, one of the proposed areas was along side Markham Road and Hwy 407. The group met with the NHL about getting a team for the Markham area but the NHL
promised them nothing and said "In other words, they should not make a decision to build if that decision is in any way related or dependent on the NHL locating a franchise in Markham. For purposes of their analysis, they should assume it will never happen". In 2009 billionaire Jim Balsillie tried to buy the Phoenix Coyotes and move the team to Hamilton in 2009. This did not work and was met with lots of resistance from the NHL (who remain in control of the Coyotes) and the Toronto Maple Leafs who claim to have exclusive rights to the GTA.

Maple Leafs Gardens Planned To Reopen On November 30th
The Maple Leaf Gardens will be reopening its doors after 10 years on November 30th. Loblaw's, LCBO and Ryerson will be occupying the old Gardens building. The grocery store will be unlike any other Loblaw's and supermarket, it will be an "urban food emporium worthy of the sophisticated tastes of Toronto's booming downtown condo-dwellers". Ryerson will be building a new athletic center and hockey arena above the grocery store. The Maple Leaf Gardens would have never been restored if Loblaw's and Ryerson never struck a deal to rebuild the facilities. Check out the link below for more details.

Maple Leafs Won Tonight Bringing Them Back Up To Third Place In The Easter Conference
Toronto beat dallas tonight 4-3 in a shootout! It was an intense game tonight both teams were keeping up with each other all night. The Maple Leafs should have been given a power play from Souray's highstick hit to Lupul's face in the last minute of the third, but Lupul managed to come back and finished the shootout off scoring the only goal of the shootout on the third shot for the Leafs.

Bozak, Connolly lift Leafs over Lightning
The Toronto Maple Leafs turned a much-desired uptempo game into a victory.
Tyler Bozak scored two goals and added an assist and Tim Connolly had a goal and two assists to lead the Maple Leafs to a 7-1 win over the Tampa Bay Lightning on Tuesday night.
"There were some moments, but we pretty much negated their forecheck for the most part," Toronto coach Ron Wilson said. "And we wanted to push the pace and I thought we were really effective doing it."
Clarke MacArthur(notes), Joe Colborne, Joffrey Lupul and Joey Crabbe also scored for the Maple Leafs, who had lost four of five.

Maple leaf Fans have to wait more for Reimers comeback
James Reimer will remain out at least another ten days.
That was the word from Ron Wilson, following the 23-year-old's first practice since November 1 as he continues to recover from concussion-like symptoms which have sidelined him for the last 15 games.
"This is a process so let's not rush it," said Wilson, following practice at the American Airlines Arena. "When we want him to go in there we want him to be 100 per cent in terms of stopping the puck and in terms of conditioning and all of that. He won't go in until he's ready."

Maple Leafs Host Slumping Capitals
Two teams going in the wrong direction after great starts meet up for a Hockey Night in Canada clash
This is the first meeting of the season. The Capitals won three of four against the Maple Leafs last season, but three of the four contests went to a shootout. Sixteen days ago the Maple Leafs were atop the Eastern Conference with 19 points, but losses in five of the past six have muted the early-season optimism in Toronto. Not only have the Leafs slid back to fifth place, they have been outscored 26-8 in the past six games.

Toronto Has Lost 5 Out Of The Last 6 Games...
It was another sad game last night for the Maple Leafs who cant seem to win anything anymore, they lost against the Predators 4-1. I'm not going to waste my time and post the game review in 6 minutes video, instead I will post this video of a huge fight between Toronto and Philly from back in the 90's. Every player on the ice from both teams is going at it, including the goalies (Felix Potvin vs Hextall).

Reasons For The Leafs Improvement
J.S. Giguere’s leadership with his defence:
J.S. has constantly communicated with his defence core and that has provided a stable and confident atmosphere for the group.
. Excellent puck support:
Quick, accurate and short passes have provided speed starting from the Leafszone
His fitness has improved this year and he participated in training camp. It looks like he is in for a big year.
. Luke Schenn/Tomas Kaberle/Dion Phaneuf are much improved:
Luke has found a confidence and comfort level which is part of the process of a young player improving. Tomas looks like he is having fun again. He has leadership help (no “A” - great move Ron Wilson) and you get to a point where you just forget about the trade talk! Phaneuf has embraced the “C” and has kept his game efficient on the ice.

Maple Leafs Take #1 Spot In The League Tonight!!!!!
For the first time in a while the Toronto Maple Leafs are in the 1st place in the entire league. The Leafs stole first place tonight from the Penguins with their win over The Columbus Blue Jackets. I didn't think id see this happen again but the Leafs are on top. The Leafs last won the Stanley Cup in 1967 and this season seems to be the most hopeful for the Leafs in 44 years so lets keep our fingers crossed and hope the Leafs can stay on top!!!
The Leafs beat the Blue Jackets 4-1 tonight with Ben Scrivens playing a very successful NHL debut for his first game. Scrivens played very well tonight and made some amazing saves if he can keep playing like this he could potential have a successful NHL career.

Joffrey Lupul's second period hat-trick steered the Toronto Maple Leafs to a 5-3 victory over the New Jersey Devils on Wednesday, the virtuoso performance ruining home goaltender Martin Brodeur's return from injury.
Lupul single-handedly took control of a 2-2 tie in the second by netting three times in less than seven minutes to send the struggling Devils to their third straight loss.
